The theory elements of eyeball QC with an overview of AQC. Covering the various “scoring” methods for issues as well as the terminology used. The longer courses include more practical QC exercises as well as more work on scopes and WFMs.

We cover Producer signoff as well as PSE and the relationship between eyeball and ACQ.

This course also helps harmonise QC reporting across a team and is an invaluable opportunity to have some best practice as used across the industry.

The 1 day course is largely theory and PowerPoint led. The 2 day course is approx. half theory and half practical. The 3 day course is more practical exercises than the 2 day course. All come with notes that follow the PowerPoint elements.

QC PSE Fixing (Premiere or Media Composer)
1 Day Course

A one day course that explains the PSE history and OFCOM requirements. Looks at AQC PSE results and then covers a range of industry editor solutions to resolve PSE issues.

PowerPoint led theory followed by examples and exercises (ideally with client based failures).

Post Production Overview
A Half Day course for less technical staff

Less technical overview of production suitable for accountants and non-operational staff. Useful to give them an overview of changes in the industry and the buzz words in use.

QC Industry Training Overview
2 day course

Explain & demonstrate the audio and video signal formats and technical aspects of TV today

Expand the signal theory behind today’s digital content

Briefly cover the relationship between analogue and digital and then move onto files, wrappers and codecs.

Look at the QC process and implications for tape-less workflows and how those relate to standards and compliance. (This is a brief QC overview, for more detailed QC training consider the QC course)

This course is designed for teams working in the Broadcast or Post Production areas of TV delivery.

UHD & HDR Primer
A Half Day course for less technical staff

The sessions are aimed at Producers who need to start engaging with UHD and HDR. Even if they aren’t dealing with that content yet they need to know what it is to avoid it! This also suits Bookings staff and anyone who needs to have informed discussions with clients.

Post Production Fundamentals
1 Day Course covering a broad range of technical areas

Aims to cover the fundamental understanding of current Post production workflows in overview with some updates on new standards, resolutions, loudness etc

1 Day Course for those that need to know about files and compression in TV & Post

Covers files and wrappers, codecs, resolutions, 601, 709 & 2020 as well as AS-11 and more.

Covers files and wrappers, codecs, resolutions, 601, 709 & 2020 as well as AS-11 and more.

More in-depth than the 1 day course with more examples of actual compression tasks to evaluate.

Understanding Digital Media
A course that can run from 1 day to 3 days depending on your needs

This is a core fundamentals course and can be tailored to suit content or number of days. The full course is 3 days long and covers a wide range of the technologies related to the current Production and Broadcast industries.

This a fundamentals course so covers a broad range of topics in some depth and is aimed at technical operators and those wanting to know more in-depth about how our file based industry works.

This is mainly a theory led course with PowerPoints and Tutor led demos.

R128 Loudness
Half Day course

A short overview of the new loudness spec and how we measure and manage it.

Includes information on LUFS digital True peaks and the tools we use to measure and adjust them.
